Lift Up Your Heart and Sing!
Friend,
lift up your eyes and see
How wide the clear skies are.
Lift up your eyes and behold
The strong, brown hills;
The great, green trees;
The waters deep and blue.
Lift up your eyes and meditate
How warm the sunshine is;
How tempered are the winds that blow;
How fresh and sweet the rain.
Lift up your eyes and gaze
On nature's radiant beauty,
Nor forget to listen to
The wild bird's joyous song!
Friend, lift up your heart and think
How sweeping skies bespeak Life's endless span.
Lift up your heart and learn
That strong hills, mighty trees, and waters deep
Are but symbols of Truth's might.
Lift up your heart and know
That the bright sun's shining
And the rain's impartial falling
Betoken Love's care for all!
Then, friend, when you have seen and known,
Lift up your heart and sing!
