Melbourne, Australia (Second Church).

Lecturer: Albert F. Gilmore; introduced by Mrs. Mary Shearsby, who said:—

In the Bible, John 14, we read these words spoken by Jesus: "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." Of all the teachings given to the world, Christian Science alone shows how this peace is to be gained. My introduction to Christian Science came through reading the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. As I read, I did indeed experience that peace of God "which passeth all understanding," and felt a deep sense of gratitude for the revelation of the Christ, Truth, to this age. Before I had finished reading that book through for the first time, I was completely healed of serious intestinal trouble which had failed to yield to medical treatment. What this healing truth does for one, it can do for all here to-night, as we are told in this same little book (p. 449) that "a grain of Christian Science does wonders for mortals, so omnipotent is Truth."

I am deeply impressed with the value of these lectures in acquainting the public with an understanding of what Christian Science is and does, because my first introduction to Christian Science came through attending a Christian Science lecture. As I listened to that lecture I realized that the truth was being revealed, that Science was being unfolded by the speaker, and that the true import of the Christianity of Christ Jesus was being presented to me. My interest thus being aroused, I began to study the textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and later attended the church services. As a result I was healed of many discords, physical and mental, and a true sense of spiritual happiness came to my consciousness. I am sure that the lecture this evening will have this same message of healing and understanding which came to me from the lecture.

Like many others I turned to Christian Science, in my extremity, for a physical healing and was healed. This happened about ten years ago, and since that time God has been the only Physician in our home. He has never failed us, and has always met our every need.
