Honoring God and Man
The Christian Scientist's dominant purpose is to honor God and man through standing for Spirit, God, the one cause, and progressively demonstrating perfection in his daily life. The incessant, scientific process of honoring the creator and His creation is needful and stimulates faith. It leads on to dominion over the false sense of creation and annuls discord in human experience.
"Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious." The Christian Scientist stands by Truth's own indisputable allness. He honors his own affirmations of the truth and denials of error, and trusts their twofold efficacy. Sincere rejoicing in the irrefutable power of God, infinite good, breaks the mesmerism of fear. The voice of God must be recognized as the word of command governing the human situation.
On page 183 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mrs. Eddy writes, "If Christian Science dishonors human belief, it honors spiritual understanding; and the one Mind only is entitled to honor." Whoever honors God, as Christian Science teaches, is sequentially bound to dishonor, to discredit, the powerless lie of materialism, for he cannot honor opposites. He is honorably bound to exclude from his consciousness materialistic threats and base attractions, and to listen only for the decrees of divine Principle.
