Over thirty years ago I found Christian Science through the healing of a friend after a physician had frankly said that he could do nothing more for the case.

From early childhood I had been troubled with catarrh. Various physicians, electrical treatments, and many material remedies were tried with no good results. Many times, indeed, after these treatments I was left in a worse condition.

Having seen this quick and wonderful healing of my friend, I kept wondering if I too might not be healed. After many days in this state of mind, I called on a practitioner, and to my surprise found an intellectual and refined young lady, spiritually-minded and devotedly religious, who unfolded to me the wonders of the Bible and Christian Science. When I left I had had my first treatment. After the third treatment I was entirely free from catarrh. Words cannot describe my joy at being liberated from a disease that had been with me practically all my life. I immediately commenced the study of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.
