Company Manners

Our God is present everywhere; and we can have an unusually good time if we will learn to remember this. Just think what good company we are in! Our Father-Mother God is the very best Friend we have, and we can trust Him always to help us and to teach us how to help others.

Have you ever tried to make someone you loved very much like you, by being as nice as you knew how whenever he was around? Perhaps you ran on an errand for him more willingly than you would for someone else. You may even have tried to show this friend that you were always kind to sister or brother or neighbor, and always did exactly what mother and father asked of you the minute they spoke. Perhaps you have tried to look to this friend as if you were never cross, selfish, impatient, untidy, or unwilling.

If we were honest about it, we might call this way of behaving our "company manners." Even many grown-up people practice them, much more often than they are willing to confess.
