I wish to express my gratitude to God for a healing I received through Christian Science. I had been ailing for two years or more when one day I made a call on the family doctor and was told I was beyond any help from him. He gave me the name of one of the greatest specialists in the country on such cases. I went at once to see this specialist. He gave me an examination and then told me that I was two years late in coming to him for treatment, and that the only thing left for him to do was to give me a radium treatment.

I went into the hospital for this in October, and felt when I left there that I was healed; but in January I began to grow worse and suffered day and night with pain. On the first of February I went back into the hospital to be treated for other diseases that had developed. On returning home, I grew weaker every day, and for eight months never knew what it was to be without a hot water bottle or an electric pad. Nothing could be done to ease my suffering. The doctors all said that the large amount of radium which had to be used in the condition I was in had affected my whole inside. I was back in the hospital again in April. After three weeks, which brought no improvement, my daughter asked the specialist when he thought I should be able to go home. His answer was, "Any time," as he had done all that he could do. I was taken home a physical wreck, and grew weaker each day. At times I was so exhausted it was impossible to speak.

One day the subject of Christian Science was brought before me, and I was asked why I did not go to see a practitioner. I did so one Monday and stated my case to her. She gave me "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy to read; and as I was reading this book the truth was revealed to me that God is Love and that He is our great Physician. The following Wednesday a great change took place in one disease which the doctors had pronounced chronic. The following Tuesday, with Science and Health packed in my traveling bag, I went on an eighty-five-mile trip by auto to the seashore. I had written the lady with whom I was to board the things she would have to give me to eat; but I had been there only a few days when I was eating everything that was placed on the table for the other boarders, much to my surprise and to the landlady's also. I stayed there three weeks, and when I came home I was entirely healed.
