I have had many experiences which have proved to me...
I have had many experiences which have proved to me that Christian Science does heal. When I first became interested in this Science, I was unhappy, discouraged, and as discontented as it would seem possible for anyone to be. In this state of thought I called on a dear friend who was a Christian Scientist, and poured out my troubles to her. Immediately she spoke the most comforting words to me that I had ever heard, and when I left her I was so uplifted and cheered that I seemed to be walking on air. My whole outlook on life had changed in the hour that I spent with her. Through the help of a Christian Science practitioner difficult business problems were solved, and supply which seemed to be cut off was restored and even multiplied.
I have been healed of many physical troubles, some of which were considered quite serious. Some of these healings were instantaneous. One of the principal things that Christian Science has done for me is to bring contentment and happiness, and a keener appreciation and enjoyment of the simple things of life. Through Christian Science I am learning that the true way to happiness is, as Mrs. Eddy states in her Message to The Mother Church for 1902 (p. 2), "To live and let live, without clamor for distinction or recognition; to wait on divine Love; to write truth first on the tablet of one's own heart,—this is the sanity and perfection of living, and my human ideal."
In the lives of Christ Jesus and Mrs. Eddy I have found the model for daily living. They have taught us that our health and welfare are never uncertain or dependent upon material conditions, but that it is as natural for man to enjoy good health and prosperity at all times as it is for the sun to shine and birds the birds to sing.
