It is with sincere gratitude to our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, that I give the following testimony. In the Bible we read, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
In helping to move some furniture while at my work one day, I strained myself so severely that three pelvic abscesses formed. The doctor said I had one chance in a thousand to live. I decided I would take that chance with God and Christian Science. Peritonitis had set in, and my abdomen was discolored and very much swollen. I went to The Christian Science. Benevolent Association Sanatorium at Chestnut Hill, and had been there just eleven days when the first opening of about three inches appeared and the abscess, which had broken at the same time, began to drain. There was no pain or sensation of any kind, which proved Mrs. Eddy's "scientific statement of being," as given in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 468). After two weeks' draining this first opening closed and two more came; this continued until I had eight in all. There were no tubes needed, or pressure of any kind, which shows clearly that divine Mind needed no assistance. I was completely healed through Christian Science.
Words are inadequate to express my sincere gratitude to God, to Christian Science, and to our dear Leader, who was pure and spiritual enough to give the revelation to all mankind. I am deeply grateful to the practitioner who gave his unselfish work and his loving care and service; and to the associates at the Sanatorium for all the love and care I received there.
