To recount the blessings I have had since a small pamphlet on Christian Science fell into my hands would fill a book. I knew when I had read but a few lines that it was the truth, that it could be proved, and that my whole life would begin to be changed from that moment. When I look back and see how God has led me "in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake," I bow in humility and marvel at the ways of divine Principle, Love.
I have found that progress has been uninterrupted when I have prayed, "Not my will, but thine, be done." Self-will, together with merely human ways and means, only brought darkness and despair and the retracing of footsteps. I have seen all manner of diseases healed through Christian Science. Growths have disappeared into their native nothingness through the realization that God's work is finished, creation complete, and nothing can be added to it. Eruptions and skin diseases have been seen only as impurities coming to the surface to pass off as thought became purer. Over and over again lost articles have been found through knowing that they were only lost sight of, and that the reflection of omnipresent intelligence would reveal them. But the healing that stands out beyond all others was the overcoming in some degree of a belief in a selfhood apart from God, the gaining of a more noble purpose in life, and of humility.
For the life of our Master, Christ Jesus, and for the revelation of Christian Science given to the world by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, words are futile to express what the heart feels. Class instruction, for which I am indebted to an unselfish and loving teacher, gave a clearer understanding of God, and laid the foundation for more intelligent work in the truth.
