This testimony is sent with a deep sense of gratitude for Christian Science, which was introduced to me at a time of great physical need. I was then a hospital nurse, and had been suffering from sciatica for over eight months. In spite of all the doctors' advice and medicine I got no better, but rather became worse. At that time my sister and brother-in-law asked me if I would not try Christian Science. At first I refused; but as I seemed to be getting worse each day, one morning I very reluctantly said I would see a practitioner. A few minutes after meeting her I was at ease. Among other things, she told me that if I wanted to be healed I must give up all drugs, and my medicine must be "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. That, to me, was very strange, but I thought I would try it. She then gave me a treatment, and from that moment I began to feel different. I am deeply grateful to say that in three days I was completely healed.

This healing resulted in a search to find out what had really healed me, and since then Christian Science has been my only guide and physician. The application of this truth has healed me of curvature of the spine, constipation, sprained ankle, and a growth under the eyelid which just fell away after I asked my husband for treatment. The healing of bad temper was also brought about. Various lost articles have been quickly returned when I have had the right understanding of man's relationship to God.

I am very grateful to God for all these healings, and to the practitioner who so lovingly helped me to be "born again." My greatest joy of all is for the spiritual growth I am gaining as I put this wonderful truth into practice in my everyday life. I am deeply grateful to our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, the revelator of Truth to this age, for the right understanding of God and the Bible and of the mission of Jesus the Christ, which she has made so clear to us through Science and Health. I would also express gratitude for the spiritual inspiration which came to me through class instruction; for the privilege of being a member of The Mother Church and of a branch church; and for the joy of attending the Annual Meeting of The Mother Church in 1927. This certainly was to me "a feast of Soul and a famine of sense" (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 263), making me realize more clearly what the Directors of The Mother Church and other workers are doing for the salvation of all mankind.—(Mrs.) Vera Gladys North-Field, Ipswich, Suffolk, England.
