In the address of a prominent medical representative reported...

Chronicle and News and Item

In the address of a prominent medical representative reported in your issue of March 14, he refers to Christian Scientists as "a religion for women." Now Christian Scientists can agree with and appreciate this admission. However, they have found it just as good for men also, many of whom are enjoying good health after many futile attempts to attain it under medical practice. Indeed, medical men are sending their patients in increasing numbers to Christian Science practitioners for their healing. The reason is obvious. Christian Science is not a faith-cure, as that term is ordinarily understood, or as might be inferred from another statement in the report. It is Science of mental, spiritual, cause and effect.

In Romans we read, "To be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace." Christian Science definitely distinguishes between human or carnal thinking and spiritual thinking, and heals on the basis of divine Mind's allness. Therefore Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, definitely stated in her text-book on the subject, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (P. 174), "We should understand that the cause of disease obtains in the mortal human mind, and its cure comes from the immortal divine Mind."
