I want to express my gratitude for the help that has been brought to my family and to me through the application of Christian Science.

On March 30, 1930, I experienced an accident while chopping wood. The index finger of my left hand was cut through the knuckle joint. The cords were severed and the joint was split. The hand was wrapped up, and I walked home—half a mile—repeating "the scientific statement of being" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 468). I had the help of some very dear friends who were Christian Scientists, one a practitioner who has helped us with many problems. The result was that I had to remove the wrapping to allow my finger to straighten. The cords had rejoined, and I was able to move my finger. This healing was accomplished in a very few minutes. I experienced no pain, and lost no time from my work. The third day after the accident I worked fifteen hours and fifty minutes on my run, my left hand in use at all times handling the throttle of the engine. The wound was entirely closed after seven days, leaving no noticeable scar. The finger is just as good and serviceable as ever.

This is one more proof that God is ever present to help us when we need Him. I am grateful for the understanding and help that have been brought to me through Christian Science.—John R. Follett, Tacoma, Washington.
