I have been interested in Christian Science about twenty-six...
I have been interested in Christian Science about twenty-six years and a student of it for sixteen years. I had almost always had quick healings, but several years ago a condition of blood poisoning manifested itself which did not yield to my own work or to the work of a faithful practitioner, though treatment was continued for many months. Finally I realized that the work was my own to do, and for several weeks I strove earnestly to know what it was that was preventing me from making the demonstration. One night when it seemed as though the physical condition was as bad as it had ever been, mortal mind tried to say the name of the disease, but before it could even form itself in my thought, the voice of Truth seemed to say, Its name is fear. I felt so grateful that this had been uncovered to me that I went to sleep thanking God. When I awoke in the morning, every vestige of the soreness had gone, and the place where it had been was so dried up that the dried skin was dropping from it. I am so grateful for the words from the Psalms, "Thou wilt shew me the path of life."
