Three years ago, through Christian Science, I learned of the all-power and ever-presence of God. Each material belief I encountered became an opportunity to prove the truth of Christian Science. Two years ago a big opportunity came to me to prove the truth of Christian Science, when I was troubled with poor eyesight.

A friend recommended an oculist, who said I must wear glasses constantly for two years at least, as my eyes were in a very bad condition. About two days after receiving my glasses, I wore them to the Christian Science Sunday School which I had been attending. Arriving early, I found my teacher alone. I told her that I had been having a lot of trouble with my eyes, and had been to see an oculist, and I told her what he had said. She declared that God was the only lawmaker and that mortal mind had no power or right to lay down any law of inharmony for me. She also said that since God is All, man could no more lose his sight than he could lose his God.

A little later, during the class, the teacher lovingly asked whether, if someone came to me troubled with poor eyesight, I would help him or send him to an oculist. I said that I would help him, and audibly declared the truth. My teacher added several declarations of truth to finish the work. A few months later, when I again went to have my eyes examined by the same doctor, he said my eyes were one hundred per cent normal without glasses.
