It is with unspeakable joy and deep gratitude for Christian Science that I give this testimony.
I did not seek help for myself, but for another, although I was in need of permanent healing, rather than temporary relief. At the time I was seeking help for this dear one, I was told of a Christian Science practitioner, whom I went to see. As I was leaving his office he handed me a copy of The Christian Science Journal. As I began to read and study this Journal I found myself pondering the different sentences as I was about my other work; I found myself just living in the truths of what I read in that Journal, they were so wonderful to me. In about ten days my attention was drawn to the fact that I was completely healed of asthma, from which I had suffered a great deal, and which I had been told was incurable, and that I could be given only temporary relief.
I then began to use this truth as I understood it for everything, never doubting, for I was so sure God heard me always. A few weeks later a call came over the telephone from one who had a sprained ankle. My first thought was to get the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, to find the remedy. When the one who had sprained her ankle was brought into the house, the thought was expressed that everything was all right. It was Wednesday, and she went to church with me that evening. She stayed home from school for only a few days, and her teacher expressed much surprise at her return.
