I grew up in a home where Christian Science literature...

I grew up in a home where Christian Science literature was always present, and as a child experienced a number of healings through the work of a member of my family and through Christian Science practitioners. Thus I early felt a great respect for the teachings of Christian Science, but I never studied any for myself nor understood clearly how I was healed. Later, when physical ailments presented themselves I turned to medicine for help, and there followed many years of wandering in the wilderness of material remedies. It was when these failed me, and in an hour of great need, that the voice of Truth was again heard and in humility I began to study the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. The result was that my health was restored, and joy and peace of mind began to replace the old fears, worries, and discontent.

During the eight years since the above awakening and healing took place, Christian Science has been my only physician. Many physical difficulties have been overcome for myself and the children; so-called contagious diseases have been quickly healed; and the end of a finger that was torn off in an accident was soon made whole again through the application of this truth.

I am deeply grateful for the measure of happiness and contentment that has unfolded in our home as a result of Christian Science, and I am grateful to have a small part in the activities of the movement.—(Mrs.) Helen V. White,Springfield, Illinois.
