Identity

How interested we are in the little children who, throughout the centuries, have been known to Bible readers, and how clearly their identity stands out! We recall the little Samuel in his sweet childish way running to Eli to see if he had called him, showing his prompt obedience to the voice that spoke to him, and associating his voice with one he loved.

Much earlier in Bible history we read of little Joseph, so dear to his father, who, after passing through many troublous and difficult times, then obtained favor of the king and was given an exalted position in his kingdom. This was because he had remained loyal to God and always showed unfaltering courage in obeying divine Principle.

While the name of Moses is always inseparable from the Commandments, yet we read of the infant Moses, and see in his deliverance from the cruelty of Pharaoh the hand of God protecting him; and we hear of the little sister that was near at hand to call the mother who cared for Moses in the home of the king's daughter, who adopted him.
