The article entitled "What Is Evil?" published in your paper, has just come to my attention. The writer makes the following statement in his article relative to Mary Baker Eddy and Christian Science: "The second philosophy is that of Mary Baker Eddy. Her position is that there is no evil." As your readers may get a wrong impression of the teaching of Christian Science from this statement, I shall appreciate space in your columns for this correction.

Christian Science is essentially a religion. It is the religion of Christ Jesus, because it is founded on his teachings, and reveals the divine Principle and rule by which he healed the sick and sinning and raised the dead. Mrs. Eddy discovered this divine Principle and rule, and named her discovery "Christian Science." This explains her position in relation to Christian Science.

Christian Science declares that Truth is real and error is unreal. Now Truth is God, is good; and error, or evil, is a seeming contradiction of God, Truth. The Bible says of God in Deuteronomy: "He is the Rock, his work is perfect: ... a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he."
