Reflection

That great friend of mankind, Christ Jesus, spoke as man had never spoken. He said: "My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. ... The Son can do nothing of himself." These marvelous words were substantiated by the Master's deeds. He proved his unity with God, divine Principle, and his ability to reflect the Father, by healing every phase of discord. Furthermore, the meek Way-shower made it unmistakably clear that everyone possesses by reflection the ability to express the Father, and that this ability will be demonstrated individually as mortals gain the proper sense of God and man.

The right apprehension of God as divine Principle, Mind, Soul, Spirit, Life, Truth, Love, and of man as God's infinite idea or reflection, is made available through Christian Science. Hear these illuminating words of Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, as found on page 250 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures": "Man is not God, but like a ray of light which comes from the sun, man, the outcome of God, reflects God."

The rays of the sun coexist with and are wholly dependent on the sun. Without the rays the sun would not be expressed; hence, the rays exist because the sun exists. Speaking in the absolute, man's true selfhood is God expressed, God's nature made manifest. Man is wholly dependent on God, divine Mind, and coexists with Him, for Mind is his life. Man, God's idea, lives in God, and is continually expressing Him.
