From the Field

[Annual Report of the Christian Science Joint Institutional Committee of the Churches of Christ, Scientist, in Philadelphia and Vicinity]

"Growth is the eternal mandate of Mind," Mrs. Eddy says in our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to Scriptures" (p. 520).

At the Holmesburg Home for the Indigent more systematic methods have been introduced for handling the details of the work, and uniform instructions issued to all the committee. Records are being kept of cases of healing, amount of literature distributed, and books lent. A worker was placed in charge of all the work in this institution in May, and since then he has been attending to the arrangements in the chapel each week and taking charge of the services.

A woman worker has also been making weekly visits in the woman's building since September, giving a word of cheer to all, inviting them to our services and offering the priceless truth to the receptive thought. Thus about thirteen have been introduced to a Christian Science service for the first time, and most of these have become regular attendants. A man is reported to have partially regained his sight after being blind for six years. Another, afflicted with deafness, came to the service although he could hear nothing. At the third service he reported that he could hear without difficulty.
