Reflection

Have I a word of hope and cheer?
Then let me only try
To comfort weary hearts and say
God's love can never die.

Have I a smile? Then let me not
Withhold its cheering ray;
Perchance for some lone passer-by
'Twill light a darksome day.

Have I a prayer of faith and trust?
Oh, may I never cease
To know that only from above
Can come a perfect peace.

My heart with gratitude aflame,
Dear God, to Thee I pray,
That so my love may shine to light
Some pilgrim on the way.
