Among the Churches

Current Notes

Watsonville Register

Watsonville, California (First Church).—According to an announcement of officials of the Christian Science church at Watsonville, a new and dignified home will be built within the next three months to house the organization, which has grown and prospered during the twenty-nine years since it was founded. Of modest size and unpretentious design, the structure will be of stucco construction in modified Spanish style and will comfortably seat about one hundred and fifty persons. The plans provide for a library and Reading Room, where Christian Science literature may be read or purchased. The new church edifice will be erected on the church's property on East Lake Avenue, opposite Jefferson Street. The church expects to dispose of the dwelling houses now on the lot, so that actual construction work may start at an early date. The present plan marks the culmination of an earnest desire for an attractive home of its own, and the erection of the edifice will be a great factor in the improvement of the corner and the cumulative enhancement of the city's beauty.—Watsonville Register.
