Having often been helped by the testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals, I am sending this in the hope that it may benefit those who are in need of this healing truth.

For years I suffered so intensely from pain in the right side of the abdomen that it was very difficult for me to walk or do any work. When I sat down I was unable to keep my feet on the floor and had to have them elevated. For three years I tried almost every known remedy, but nothing seemed to help. Finally I was taken to a hospital for what the doctor called an exploratory operation; but the surgeon, who came from a distant city for my case, refused to operate when he had examined me. He further said the only thing that could be done for me was to make me as comfortable as possible, and not expect me to walk much more.

My attention being called to Christian Science, our little daughter was sent to the public library for a copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I read it constantly, and soon felt some relief from the dreadful pain. The complete healing was slow, and it was about a year before I was able to walk wherever I wished to go. I shall never forget the sense of sureness that was with me during this time, that what had been done for others could and would be done for me.
