The Lectures

Introductions to Lectures

Brookline, Massachusetts (auspices of The Mother Church).

Lecturer: Richard J. Davis; introduced by Miss Mary E. Belcher, who said:—

A Christian Science lecture should be a joyful occasion, joyful because those attending it have come to learn something more of God, the Giver of all good, and of man created in His image and likeness. Most people to-day are familiar with the fact that Christian Science heals a sick body, but perhaps there are some here who are not equally familiar with the fact that it also heals a sick business and helps one to solve difficult problems. At this particular time when business depression, unemployment, and lack seem to be so prevalent, there are many who are longing to find a way out of their troubles and perplexities. Our lecturer will tell us how we can replace anxiety, lack, and the sense of instability and insecurity with joyous confidence, stability, and right activity, through a knowledge of what constitutes true substance, and the consciousness of the ever-presence of our Father-Mother God, by whom every need of mankind is abundantly met.
