The joy that Christian Science has brought to my life is...

The joy that Christian Science has brought to my life is beyond all words to tell. I did not take it up for healing, but as a religion that I could understand and use; and after reading the chapter on Prayer in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I thought I had found it. Time proved that I was right; for Christian Science has been not only a satisfying religion to me, but an ever present help in all the problems of my life.

Divine healing never ceases to fill me with wonder and joy, and I am always grateful when by reflecting divine Love I am made a channel through which healing comes to those suffering from disease, sorrow, sin, or lack.

I have experienced many healings. Twice I have been healed of bones broken while I was skating. The first time I was blown over on the ice by a fierce wind and a bone in my right hand was broken. I did my mental work, cleared my consciousness of wrong thinking, and the healing was so rapid that within a week I was addressing envelopes for invitations to a Christian Science lecture. The second time, two bones were broken in my left wrist by a fall on the ice. For this I again applied what I knew of Christian Science. After four days the family insisted that I should have the arm X-rayed. This was done. The fractures could be plainly seen, but the bones had knit perfectly through my understanding of the truth. The surgeon simply put the wrist in a light splint, for my convenience, and it healed painlessly in a very short time with no treatment but my own right thinking.
