[Written Especially for Young People]

Our Work

Every boy and girl is at some time confronted with the question, What is my life-work to be? It is a very important question, and students of Christian Science may well rejoice that they have found a sure way to answer it.

Mortal mind would have us believe that the real training for our work is received in some school or college; but is this entirely true? In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mrs. Eddy says (p. 195), "Academics of the right sort are requisite." But we find that with merely scholastic training and without a knowledge of God, infinite good, our lives would indeed be unsatisfying.

We wish to accomplish something in our work. Naturally, we wish to be successful. Service to God and man is the basis of true accomplishment, and it is also the way to success. What is success? Is it the amassing of money or the gaining of fame? Or is it, basically, the giving out of real riches—reflecting love?
