"Let there be light"

The mist that would obscure the right
Is false belief;
God's first command, "Let there be light,"
Still brings relief.

The mist is temporary haze—
It cannot last;
It cannot turn the steadfast gaze
On goodness cast;

For here we find creation pure,
And in His hand;
The mist, the lie, cannot endure
The light God planned.

All-glorious Truth that makes us free,
We would rehearse
The blessings that still come from Thee
When mists disperse.
