I came to Christian Science for the healing of inflammatory rheumatism. After many months of suffering I called on a practitioner for help. Discerning my need, instead of treating me for the trouble, she told me to get and read the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I could not see how the reading of a book could heal anyone, but I wanted to be obedient, so I borrowed Science and Health from a Christian Science Reading Room, and was healed while reading the chapter on Prayer. This was so wonderful that I kept on reading; and like many others found I could not part with the precious book. I bought a copy for myself; also a Bible and the Christian Science Quarterly. Oh, how I loved these books and the spiritual peace that came with the daily study of the Lesson-Sermons!

Then came a testing time, for I had to decide whether to stay with the church of which I had been a member or go to that from whose teachings had come my healing. I do not think I had ever prayed more sincerely to be shown the way. Finally the answer came, and my lot was cast wholly with Christian Science. Since then, sixteen years ago, Christian Science has been my only help and has met my every need when honestly applied. Many have been the healings that have come to me—too many to enumerate. However, I will name a few. I was healed of lonesomeness, of grippe, influenza, swollen and inflamed leg, indigestion from congestion of the liver, and hemorrhoids. Sometimes the demonstration was made through my own understanding, at other times with the loving help of a practitioner.

To say I am grateful for Christian Science does not nearly express my gratitude, nor the love and reverence I feel for those who have helped me on the way Spiritward. For the life and teaching of Christ Jesus and of our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, and for the ever ready help of consecrated practitioners, I bless God who led me to Christian Science. It is my earnest prayer that I may live a life worthy the name "Christian Scientist."
