An article published under the caption "Metaphysical Helps on Health," in your issue of March 26, made reference to Christian Science and implied mistakenly that its healing method is "fundamentally the same" as the "several modes of healing" mentioned in the item in question. The fact is, Christian Science stands alone; for, among various particulars, it accepts unconditionally the allness of God, Spirit, and the consequent nothingness of matter or evil.

Did not the metaphysics of the Master relate to concepts above and beyond the physical—to spiritual ideas, not to materialistic theories? Jesus took no halfway position between Spirit and matte. He made no compromise with error; and he did not cater to the material senses. He repudiated matter by his statements, "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth;" "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing."

Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, was a deep student of the life, character, and works of Christ Jesus; she turned confidently to the Bible for inspiration. Through revelation and reason she unfolded the divine law underlying the Master's healing method, healed sorrow, sickness, and sin promptly and permanently by spiritual means, and taught others to do likewise.
