Words can express only a very small part of my deep and heartfelt gratitude for the wonderful truth that has come into my life through the study and application of Christian Science. I should like to tell how this truth was revealed to me. I met a friend whom I had not seen for a year or more, and he told me of his healing in Christian Science. I marveled at the wonderful change that had taken place in his appearance. I then told him of a friend's great need of help, saying he was not able to work and it was most necessary that he should do so. He had seen many physicians, and tried many material remedies; and I was most desirous of helping him.

My friend told me that many people were healed by reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. He lent me his copy of Science and Health, and I read it for the first time. As I read it I kept saying, "This is wonderful; this is the truth, and I believe every word of it." I never thought of healing for myself, although at the time I needed healing very much; but I rejoiced that Christian Science was going to help my friend, and it did. I myself was healed of three so-called chronic diseases. As I read Science and Health its pages were illumined, and needless to say Christian Science has been my only help and religion ever since. Surely "man's extremity is God's opportunity." I have had many proofs of God's protection.

I give this testimony in loving gratitude for the many helpful ones I have read in our periodicals. I am truly grateful to God, to His beloved Son, the Christ-idea, and to our dear Leader for her great and unselfish work, for her love, devotion, and consummate wisdom in the founding of her church; and above all for a measure of understanding of God.—(Mrs.) Jane Shaw Ward, Chicago, Illinois.
