In your issue of April 12th there appears a synopsis of a lecture, ostensibly on Christian Science; but it would be more correct to say, on the lecturer's misconception of Christian Science.

He begins by stating that Christian Science is "neither Christian nor scientific." But Christian Science is Christian because it is the teaching of Christ Jesus, and fulfills his command to heal the sick and reform the sinner by his spiritual method. It is Science, for it is exact knowledge based on divine Principle, and capable of proof in human affairs.

Our critic proceeds to say, "Christian Science did not believe that there was a God, neither did it believe in a final judgment." Let me say that Christian Scientists believe in God's infinitude probably more than any other religious denomination. They believe that nothing exists in reality but God and His idea, "infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation" (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 468).
