Christian Science has been a guiding and shining light to...
Christian Science has been a guiding and shining light to me for a number of years. It has shown me the way back when I have strayed, and has illumined my consciousness and made clear to me the ever-availability of God and man's oneness with Him. It has taught me that all things are possible to God, hence to the real man as God's reflection.
I became interested in Christian Science about sixteen years ago. I had been given the choice of submitting to an operation for what was commonly termed an "inward goiter" or of very soon coming to the end of my earthly existence. The operation was never performed, but, instead, I turned to this beautiful truth. I have been healed of many other physical ills and have found this religion potent beyond all other help, and ever available. It has also enabled me to solve many business problems and has been a blessing in our home.
My gratitude to Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, is unbounded. When first coming into Christian Science I felt that Mrs. Eddy occupied too large a place in the thought of Christian Scientists, and therefore I tried to reject her. I have since learned Mrs. Eddy's true place, which can never be filled by another. My gratitude to her grows daily. I am also grateful for all the activities of the movement which she founded, for the periodicals, the Church Manual, The Mother Church with its activities, and for all her writings. I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, for class instruction, and for the privilege of teaching in the Sunday school.
