[Written for the Sentinel]

Guidance

THE peace that comes at close of day
Is symbol of the sheltering way
God's perfect love broods over men
And leads them back to faith again;

Delivers from the fowler's snare;
Gives respite from each earth-born care,
Till understanding sturdy grows
And consciousness, contented, knows

Through confidence and gratitude
The healing truth, with Love imbued.
O tender Father-Mother God,
Keep us in paths our Master trod.
