When persuaded by my mother to try Christian Science,...

When persuaded by my mother to try Christian Science, I had made arrangements to go to a hospital to be operated upon for injuries caused through childbirth, and for which I had been treated by various doctors and specialists without receiving any benefit. I was in such a run-down, nervous condition, suffering constantly and able to eat very little, that I feared I would not survive the operation, and consequently was in a very depressed state of mind.

In order to please my mother, I consented to give Christian Science a trial, not knowing anything about it and having no faith whatsoever in it, as I was positive that the only chance I had to regain my strength and health was through an operation. With the first treatment came the healing of a severe, chronic bowel trouble; and after the second treatment the other difficulties began to slip away, and I began to gain weight and strength. I could sleep and eat; the pain ceased; and I felt a lightness of heart and joy in living such as I had never experienced before. Needless to say, I did not go to the hospital, and in one week's time was so much improved that I did not seem to be the same person I had been a week before. Some years later it seemed necessary that I should have an examination made, and the physician said that while he could tell there had been a laceration it was perfectly healed.

Christian Science has been a wonderful help in solving business problems, in overcoming sorrow when loved ones passed from sight, and in the daily problems which come to us for correction. Daily I grow more grateful to Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, for giving to the world a knowledge of divine Principle; for the literature; for class instruction; and to the patient and loving practitioner to whom I went for help.
