It goes without saying that Jesus was interested in unity. Whatever else may be involved in his great prayer, "that they may be one," it unquestionably involves a unity that is first of all intensely vital and spiritual. ... Our one and only concern in the movement for larger unity among the churches is to provide a body with which the spirit of Christian brotherhood may clothe itself, and through which the common spirit of Christian living may function.
