Though I have been a student of Christian Science for...
Though I have been a student of Christian Science for only about two years it has been lovingly proved to me that, as our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." Defective vision of nineteen years' standing, attended by severe headaches, was entirely healed on my second visit to a Christian Science practitioner. Since then I have been free from headaches and have discarded eyeglasses. Severe injuries to the foot which were sustained fifteen years ago, and which ever since had been troublesome, have yielded to the truth. I have discarded arch supports and other appliances which had seemed to be necessary.
I at first thought that it would take years of study to derive any benefit from Christian Science, but this error was removed on my first treatment by a practitioner. Others might be encouraged to know that after I had been without employment for six weeks and had been rebuffed at every turn, being told I was "too old commercially," this inharmony was removed through faith in the words, "Man in Science is neither young nor old" (ibid., p. 244). These words were read from the desk at a Wednesday evening testimony meeting. After the service I read and studied them, and the very next day I was offered work which I like, with better remuneration than I expected or had originally hoped for, and God has given me success in it.
Truly I have learned through many blessings that "in divine Science, man is sustained by God, the divine Principle of being" (ibid., p. 530).
