[Written for the Sentinel]

"Thy will be done"

I Pray Thee Father, that Thy truth alone
Shall be my guide; that Thy one perfect way
In Christ may hold my thought. That, steadfast, I
May leave blind human projects, and obey.

My unselfed will would bid me, day by day,
Strive to be just a little more like Thee.
Thy will ordains that man reflect Thee now,
And cannot ever less than perfect be.

This being true, may I to human plan
And Truth obscuring strife say, "Peace, be still;"
Relinquishing the way that I would go,
That I may demonstrate Thy perfect will.
