Through the desire for something better and higher than...
Through the desire for something better and higher than materiality offers, I was led to the study of Christian Science. At that time I was suffering from asthma and lung trouble, which the doctors had pronounced tuberculosis. The cough and affliction of the lungs were healed through my study of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, together with the Bible.
After suffering for fifteen years, although I had tried change of climate and many kinds of medical treatment, I was healed of asthma through the help of a Christian Science practitioner; and glasses that had been worn for eighteen years were laid aside. Since then there have been healings of sorrow, of injuries from accidents, of so called children's diseases, and help has been received in childbirth.
Christian Science has been my only help and guide since I purchased the textbook. I am grateful to Mary Baker Eddy, who, through her purity and unselfishness, gave to all mankind this healing truth, and to all those who have helped me in any way in my journey from sense to Soul. I am grateful also for church membership with its many activities.— (Mrs.) Ethel Aileen Newell, East Oakland, California.
