Having received untold blessings from the wonderful...

Having received untold blessings from the wonderful work of our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, I feel very grateful for the better understanding of what God really is and of man's relationship to Him. I was brought up by kind and religious parents, who took the greatest care to teach me to study the Holy Bible, but the more I studied the less I seemed to understand it. After being away from my dear ones in a strange country where everything seemed different, I sought for light, comfort, and consolation, but found none in the Bible, which, however, I loved. Often did the heart cry out, Can there be a just God to permit such suffering and sorrow? The answer came after a number of years. An orthodox minister's wife told me of the wonderful healing she had received through Christian Science, of which I had never heard. I only remembered reading in a newspaper about some lawsuit, in which the judge declared Mrs. Eddy to be a wonderfully refined woman. This kind friend told me of a Christian Science practitioner in that city. I lost no time in getting to her place; and what a haven of comfort, and what a refuge from the storm of suffering and torment, it was! In one treatment I took off glasses which I had been told I should have to use continually, and for over twenty years I have never had any use for them, for the healing was complete.

Deafness was healed through the practitioner's understanding of the Christ, Truth. Next, a spinal trouble was healed, after many honest doctors and specialists had tried their best to ease the suffering, but in vain. A severely sprained wrist was healed, also a sprained foot, the fear being destroyed in both these cases through my own slight understanding and application of Christian Science. I have had many other healings too numerous to mention in such a small space.

For all the Christian Science literature, for membership in The Mother Church and also in a branch church, for being led to a loyal student of Mrs. Eddy for class instruction, for our revered Leader's work, and for loving, helpful friends, I am profoundly grateful. My only desire is to live the truth.—(Mrs.) Luise W. O'Connor, Hardisty, Alberta, Canada.
