[Written for the Sentinel]

"Neither do I condemn thee"

He , looking up into that holy place
Saw none but God's own child, in snow-white grace;
With one long glance from eyes that, radiant, shone
In Truth's pure light, beholding Love alone,
He gently spoke the message of release,
Neither do I condemn thee; go in peace,
And sin no more! ... How did the woman go?
No more with heavy steps of shame and woe;
No more condemned, accused, accursed; but free,
Touching the robe of Christ's own purity!
And, meekly, down the dusty road she bore
The precious gift—freedom to sin no more!
