In your issue of April 14, under the heading "Our Book-shelf," appears a review of a book entitled "Religion and Revelation." As the review contains many erroneous statements regarding Christian Science, will you allow me space in your columns to correct them?

The author of the book under review is no doubt sincere in his religious convictions, and must be given credit for his sincerity, but as he is an opponent of Christian Science he cannot be regarded as an authority on the subject. He has approached the study of it from a biased standpoint and, because of this, it is impossible for him to state correctly what Christian Science really is. We all know how Paul, before his conversion was a sincere and earnest religionist, but he was not and could then be an exponent of the Christian religion. The author obviously can give his readers only his own views of Christian Science. To support these views he quotes writers who are themselves opponents of it, and who have gathered their information from unreliable and hostile sources.

The author's assertion that "Christian Science is anti Christian and unscientific" is certainly untrue and not borne out by facts. The teachings of Christian Science are based upon, and are fully supported by, the Bible. An unbiased reader can prove this for himself if he will but study the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.
