The Lectures
Introductions to Lectures
Decatur, Alabama (Society).
Lecturer: Judge Frederick C. Hill; introduced by Mrs. Sallie F. Kimbrough, who said:—
Nearly two thousand years ago, Christ Jesus, our blessed Master, revealed to the world the truth about God and man, and he proved that truth by healing all manner of diseases and raising the dead. His disciples and others who believed, understood, that truth, healed disease as he had done. In the book of Hosea it is written, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." To day this same truth which Jesus proved has again been revealed to the world in Christian Science; and, as of yore, all who understand it and correctly apply it find that it solves the problems and heals the diseases that "flesh is heir to." More than eighteen years ago I was told by five physicians that nothing but an operation could ever restore me to health. After having that operation I found myself suffering more than ever before. A loved one who had been healed by Christian Science of blindness, consumption, and other ailments urged me to read the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I did so, prayerfully, with the result that I was completely healed and have remained so. Christian Science has been our only physician ever since.
