With heartfelt gratitude and a desire to help someone who may need this comforting assurance, I bear witness to the healing of mucous colitis through Christian Science treatment. Many physicians treated me, but I was no better. When it seemed as though there were nothing else to be done, Christian Science was presented to me by a neighbor. I did not readily accept it. Not until several people had told me of its healing power did I decide to try it. The result was a perfect healing in a few days. Words cannot express the happiness I experienced when I was freed from that enslaving belief. An indescribable desire came to me to do for others what the practitioner had done for me, and that desire has never left me.

This healing took place many years ago and was permanent. I realize the need for more consecrated study and work. Our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, has told us in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 10): "Seeking is not sufficient. It is striving that enables us to enter. Spiritual attainments open the door to a higher understanding of the divine Life." I can say with the Psalmist, "Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee."
