With a deep sense of gratitude for such wonderful blessings...

With a deep sense of gratitude for such wonderful blessings as have come to me through reading the testimonies found in The Christian Science Journal and the Christian Science Sentinel, I wish to submit my own testimony. It was over thirteen years ago that a friend lent me a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and so glad was I to receive it and so satisfying was the truth I found in it that I read until the wee hours of the morning, and continued all my spare time for days, until I had read it from cover to cover.

My viewpoint, my whole base of thinking, was changed. Then one after another errors came to the front. Croup, influenza, colds, measles, whooping cough—on the temptations came; but I am grateful to say that Truth, the strong deliverer, came to the rescue every time. By spring I saw no need for the many drugs that before had seemed so necessary, and they were all thrown away. Since then not a drop of medicine has been used. Our fourth child did not even need a doctor's care when he was born. This was unusual; for the births of the other three children gave us anxious times. The knowledge that God's ideas unfold harmoniously was the staff upon which I leaed; and God's promise, "Neither shall there be any more pain," was proved. "Progress is the law of God," our Leader tells us (Science and Health, p. 233), and we must grow to perfection even as the "Father which is in heaven is perfect." From reading and studying by myself I have gone on to attendance and then membership in a branch church, followed by membership in The Mother Church and class instruction, for which I am very grateful. Daily I learn to love God more and to realize His ever present, omnipotent care.
