Signs of the Times

There is indeed a kernel of truth in the teaching of Christian Science—that spiritual current which is drawing so many followers to-day—that a right understanding of the spiritual reality of things can cause sickness and sorrow to disappear. The exaggerated fear of sickness implies a recognition of the power it is exercising over us, and with this recognition one involuntarily lays himself open to its operation, submits to its disastrous power. . . .

Whatever things grand and noble have been achieved in the world have sprung from the faith which dares to say in spite of all obstacles and difficulties: And yet it shall succeed, for it is the will of God. From this we see that faith is the direct antipode of fear. . . .
