God has healed every illness in our home for over twelve years, and for about eight years before my marriage Truth healed all my discomforts. About twelve years ago I was suddenly taken seriously ill one evening. By morning the fever was very high, but my husband and I worked faithfully in Science to overcome the condition. However, I was so much worse in a few days that we called a practitioner. The improvement was only slight, so the practitioner came to the home. She had not been there ten minutes before the fever broke, and in a few days I was up and around. My strength returned rapidly, so that in less than two weeks I was perfectly normal. Those who were with me declared I had had pneumonia; but as no doctor was called, I could not say. Nevertheless, I do know that I was very near death and nothing but the power of God healed me.

Our young son has overcome warts on his hands by his own mental work, and our little daughter meets all her troubles with Truth. One summer I was healed of pains in my shoulders through her clear thought. Recently, a severe case of influenza was overcome with the help of a practitioner. Numerous ills that try to present themselves to a family have been met by our own understanding of the truth.

How grateful we are that this blessed truth of Christian Science is so simple and plain that little children may understand and apply it to daily problems! Our prayer is best expressed in our revered Leader's poem (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 397; Poems, p. 13):
