In deep gratitude for Christian Science and for the many blessings that have come to me through it, I give the following

About five years ago while staying at Corfu, I was seized with a pain in my throat which got steadily worse, until it was impossible for me to swallow even a liquid without pain. Neither could I turn my head right or left. I also had a high fever. I worked from the start to the best of my ability, reading and studying our Lesson-Sermon and passages which I knew had been helpful to me before from the Bible and from "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

On the third day the point was reached where I felt a decision must be made: I felt those surrounding me expected me to do something, as I had declined material help. I then decided to ask for Christian Science treatment and sent a cable to Athens to a practitioner there. The next day I felt the beneficent effect of Truth's work. By noon I was much relieved, and towards evening the fever had gone and the pain in the throat was disappearing. I slept throughout the night, and the next morning awoke perfectly well.
