I was born of Jewish parents and raised in the Jewish faith, but found no consolation from sorrow and illness. One day, in speaking to a rabbi, I asked him why I had to suffer so. I was informed that those whom God loves, suffer most. My condition grew steadily worse, until an operation was pronounced necessary. The suffering was so intense that four hypodermic injections were given without results. Just before I left for the hospital a neighbor whose brother was a Christian Scientist came in, and I asked this neighbor to have him read for me. I was not familiar with Christian Science, but I felt sure the reading would help me. On my way to the hospital for the operation, the pain ceased, and I realized that I had been healed through Christian Science. At the hospital three X-ray pictures were taken. One showed that a stone had passed into the bladder and later dissolved. I had been subject to attacks of this disease at first about once a year, later as often as once a month. The healing took place over twelve years ago, and I have never had an attack since that time.
The above healing was of stone of the kidneys. I have also been healed of chronic constipation of fourteen years' standing. In the past twelve years, Christian Science has met every need for my husband and our two sons, as well as for me.
Mrs. Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 344): "Why should one refuse to investigate this method of treating disease? Why support the popular systems of medicine, when the physician may perchance be an infidel and may lose ninety-and-nine patients, while Christian Science cures its hundred? Is it because allopathy and homoeopathy are more fashionable and less spiritual?"
