"I say unto all, Watch"
The aim of every earnest student of Christian Science is to emerge as quickly as possible from the mortal into the divine way of thinking; and to distinguish between the false concepts of mortal mind and true spiritual concepts demands a consecration to the practice of right thinking that will outweigh the seeming persistency of false beliefs.
In the first chapter of Genesis we read that God made a firmament to "divide the waters from the waters." What is this firmament but the understanding of divine Science? This is clearly set forth in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. It is the truth contained in this book which frees us from falsity of every nature. Christian Science teaches that good alone is man's true heritage, thus offering to humanity a full salvation from sin and sickness. In this textbook our Leader gives a definite rule whereby to govern our thinking. She writes (p. 275): "To grasp the reality and order of being in its Science, you must begin by reckoning God as the divine Principle of all that really is. Spirit, Life, Truth, Love, combine as one,—and are the Scriptural names for God. All substance, intelligence, wisdom, being, immortality, cause, and effect belong to God."
What a revolution takes place in our lives as we begin to obey that simple rule! And first, our fears begin to disappear. We have feared about our own health and the health of others, about our happiness and theirs, about the weather, and supply. Worst of all, we have feared that God might send us evil as well as good.
