Christian Science came to our home twenty years ago in the midst of great discord and sickness. Since then many healings have taken place, some slowly; but how grateful I am for these slow healings, because they have led me to "study thoroughly the letter and imbibe the spirit," which our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, admonishes us to do in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 495). I can truly say that divine Love has met my every need.

At one time I was suffering from depression, discouragement, resentment, loneliness, sorrow, self-pity, self-righteousness, lack, headache, abscess of the ear, and a weak knee for which the doctors said I would always have to wear an elastic kneecap as the knee had been badly sprained. I also suffered from continuous colds, constipation, general rundown condition, self-depreciation, self-condemnation, and other discords too numerous to mention here. But I can now say that "the former things are passed away" and in their place the fruits of the Spirit are seen, manifested, or expressed. This we can say is the transformation of the mind, of which Paul speaks in the Bible, and which does indeed renew and regenerate, bringing us into "newness of life."
